AI can generate a video in minutes. It still can't tell your story.
I've spent 20+ years in video production, from films and TV to corporate and social content. The tools have changed more in the last two years than in the previous twenty. But one thing hasn't moved: people don't connect with content. They connect with people.
Here's why human storytelling still matters for business:
1. Trust is built on authenticity. Viewers can sense when something is polished but hollow. A real customer, a real technician, a real founder telling a real story earns attention that no template can.
2. Stories are remembered. Features are forgotten. Nobody recalls a spec sheet. They remember the crew that restored power after a storm, or the first-year employee who solved a problem nobody else could.
3. Lived experience can't be prompted. AI can remix what already exists. It can't sit across from someone, sense the pause before the real answer, and know that's the moment to keep the camera rolling.
4. Emotion drives decisions. Even in B2B, the buyer is a person. Stories give them a reason to care, and a reason to choose you.
AI is a great tool for speeding up editing, transcripts, and ideation. I use it. But the tool should serve the story, not replace the storyteller.
The brands that will stand out aren't the ones producing the most video. They're the ones with something true to say and the humanity to say it well.
What's the best brand story you've seen recently? I'd love to hear it.
